I am going WHERE?!?!

If you follow me on Instagram you already know this, (if you aren't following me...shame shame because ITS FREE! FOLLOW ME HERE! Al the cool kids are doing it.) But this post is to tell you guys the news that I confirmed as of Sunday! I cant hold it in anymore...

I AM GOING TO HAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How? Well with this comes with a story!

I have made some phenomenal friends since starting college. Most of them, I made them this semester. I seriously have never been able to count on and love so many people at once. So if you are my friend, THANK YOU. You really mean the world to me.
Now that we are done with the gush fest, I can explain to you how I met my friend Casey. We have had two classes together one last semester and one this semester. (We have actually had three classes together but one was strictly online so it doesn't count...) She has curly red hair (key word CURLY), so we instantly bonded over how awesome her hair was. I always wanted a friend who knew the struggle of curly hair! Now fast forward and she is one of my very best friends. I am there for her whenever she needs me and I know she would do the same for me.(I swear I am getting to the point...)

But I have known since I met her that she would be Hawaii visiting and staying with her family ALL summer this year, and then she is going to the lovely and fantastic Clemson University next year (did I mention she's really smart? Well she is! I think its the red hair.). So I was kinda bummed that I wouldn't get to see her during the summer and then she would be leaving next year... Well as the year draws to a close and she gets ready to leave (She leaves May 10 [I think] So pray for safe travels!) she tells me that I am more than welcome to visit her down there, I just have to pay for airfare. WOAH! The chance to go to Hawaii?!?!?! I have never even been West of Louisiana  and no farther North than Tennessee. So Hawaii?!?! This is for sure out of my comfort zone. So I wasn't sure I was going to go. And then I got to thinking. My New Years Resolution including stepping out of my comfort zone in all aspects of my life. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity where I don't have to pay for lodging (THANK YOU CASEY'S FAMILY!) And I will be within walking distance of the beach! So with money I had been saving for a rainy day, I bought my plane ticket. I leave the 10 of June and return on the 16.
I am so excited for my vactaion. I got my days approved for leave from work yesterday!!! I am only nervous about a few things. Them loosing my luggage...I know I could pack just a carry on but I wouldnt have any room to bring gifts home. -My flight getting delayed and I miss my connecting flight... -Getting lost in the airport...The one for my connecting flight I know is huge. And the plane crashing.  (I say this last because its actually pretty low on my worry list.)  (Fun fact: I have never rode in an air plane! And I am doing this hans solo...Wee!!)

So if you have any tips for a first time solo flyer, let me know.  What to pack ect.

Side note:: I will need guest bloggers for this time I am away...So please email if you are interested. It is still about two months away!
My confirmation. I AM SO EXCITED.

  1. Flying alone is so relaxing! Airports are huge, but generally well labeled. When I have a connecting flight, the first thing I do when I get off of a plane is check one of those huge boards that has all of the flights listed, their departure time, and their gate, because sometimes departure times or gates change a little bit! That way you don't sprint to a gate when your plane is actually running 30 minutes behind, and you easily had time to not only walk, but grab a Starbucks on the way :)

I would be glad to guest post, just let me know!

  2. That's so exciting! I've alwasy wanted to go there!

  3. Oh my gosh, so fun!!! That is amazing! You will have such a great time! How perfect that you only have to pay for health care!!

  4. My new years resolution was to step out of my comfort zone too! Hawaii sounds amazing, it's on my bucket list. You are going to have such a wonderful time!

  5. I have absolutely no advice for flying alone but I'm so excited for you! That is amazing. I hope you enjoy your time out there.

  6. I hate connecting flights because I always get scared my luggage will get lost too haha! Hawaii is a great place though (I've been there a couple times and my Mom lives there now). You're gunna really enjoy being able to look into the water and practically see all the way down to the floor! The water is also warmer than in the states which is nice, you can just jump right in!

Definitely bring lots to do on that flight though. I wish it wasn't such a long one - I despise that flight. Bring books, iPod, whatever to keep yourself entertained. And they will have food on the plane too which is nice. What island are you going to?? I'm gunna end this super long comment now, lol!

  8. I would bring a good book, ipad/ipod, anything that will keep you entertained. As for traveling alone, don't be afraid to ask people questions. I got lost in an airport on the way back from Greece once and just asked a nice security guard how to get where I wanted to go. He was very helpful! Hawaii is amazing, girl! Enjoy!

I read EVERY SINGLE COMMENT! And respond to all of them! I love hearing for you!!! (Make sure you arent a No-Reply blogger! Google should be able to help you fix this if you are!)
